Jean-Sébastien Colson
Designer
Babel@Stal - France

After studying art (National School of Photography, Beaux-Arts ENS) and music (Conservatoire, IRCAM), Jean-Sébastien Colson was appointed coordinator of a collection of photography albums by Calmann-Lévy (Robert Doisneau, Les Restos du Cœur, etc.), before being attracted by the multimedia field, where he has stayed since. His achievements, mainly for Voove et Babel@Stal, are extremely varied: design of the AOL installation kit, design of e-learning communication CD-Rom, ergonomic redesign of their workstations for a banking network, community portals, brand sites, in-house intranet systems, etc. On a more personal note, he is currently working on an environmental sound installation project for the Paris metro.

Contribution:
The interactive agency, halfway between creating and producing

For Numer 2.0, we have decided to present the viewpoint of an interactive agency in design and production of websites, or more specifically our viewpoint as « interactivity designers ».
We briefly describe the main characteristics of an interactive agency in terms of size, organisational structure, project typology and so on, then we present the main constraints with which we are faced every day (budget, customer, industrialisation, etc.). Finally, we finish off with a presentation of some solutions that we have found for projects which enable all these constraints to be met, in products which are both creative and highly technical.
